"Venetian Lagoon I"

Original abstract artwork from the collection "HOME". 

This artwork is based on the Venetian lagoon as it is seen from the airplane during its descent into Venice airport. While I am not from Venice, my husband's family is, and over the years, I have begun to feel a deep connection to the city and its inhabitants. 

When in Venice, I am always reminded of the first time I visited the city as a child. It was a place of wonder, magic, and vibrancy. To this day, this feeling of sheer childhood excitement returns when I visit Venice. It is what I love most about the city of water. 

"The Venetian Lagoon I" is acrylic paint on natural canvas and recycled cardboard, with gold paint and gold thread, 50x50cm, in a natural wooden frame. Ready to hang.
